The Arctic Flora of Canada and Alaska project aims to produce a new flora for all vascular plants in the Arctic ecozone in Canada and northern Alaska.

| Study Area Description | The Flora region includes the north slope of Alaska, arctic northern Yukon, about one third of the Northwest Territories, most of Nunavut, extreme northeastern Manitoba, northern Quebec, and a small portion of northern Newfoundland and Labrador. Within Hudson Bay, the Sleeper Islands, Belcher Islands, Ottawa Islands, Hopewell Islands and the northern Nastapoka Islands — all part of Nunavut — are part of the Flora region. |
| 研究の意図、目的、背景など（デザイン） | The results of this research increase our knowledge of the diversity and distribution of Canadian Arctic vascular plants, which is fundamental to understanding the impact of environmental changes. The goals of this research are to produce a new web-based flora of Canadian Arctic vascular plants, develop a collection database of all northern Canadian plant collections, produce DNA barcodes for all Canadian Arctic vascular plants, resolve taxonomic problems in the Arctic flora, and analyze patterns of species and genetic diversity across the Canadian Arctic. This work provides baseline data for conservation, ecological monitoring and predictive modeling studies. |
